Requires a technical college diploma or associate?s degree in building and street maintenance and four to five years of experience in building, street, and grounds maintenance and construction and sanitation collection and disposal; or any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must have successfully completed required courses and certifications; may be required to possess additional certification(s) as deemed necessary by the City. Must possess a valid South Carolina commercial driver?s license Class ?A? and a South Carolina Pesticide Applicator License. Must have forklift certification.
Under limited supervision, performs supervisory and skilled technical work in supervising, directing, and overseeing building and street maintenance, HVAC systems, and City Sanitation Services. Work involves overseeing sanitation activities including garbage collection, heavy equipment operation, and general construction; supervising department staff; and preparing required reports and records, conducting training and performance development and assessments of subordinates, ensures safety and regulatory compliance across areas of responsibility, responsible for purchasing and managing budgets. Reports to Director of Public Works.
