Job Description:

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Maintain, communicate and trains written policies and procedures. Supports operations in ensuring that training, testing, and new product development is done in compliance with applicable USDA, Food Safety Polices, customer, and company standards.

Summary.

  • Inspect all poultry in accordance to customer specification
  • Read temperature recording devices and be able to determine next steps if temps are out of the acceptable range during transit or at time of arrival
  • Use and calibrate thermometers
  • Determine percent of defect from the representative samples
  • Be fully versed on all SOP’s pertaining to your work area
  • Be able to work primarily in refrigerated conditions all day
  • Be able to run select representative samples for examination
  • Be able work with and communicate effectively with the entire operations team
  • Be able to share best practices for proper handling with the operation team
  • Be able to organize multiple tasks on a daily basis and be able to adjust as needed
  • Be able to utilize USDA inspection process when necessary
  • Be able to communicate good and bad quality issues with operations and quality
  • Be able to communicate effectively to all departments
  • Maintain awareness of food safety
  • Perform other duties as requested by QA Manager, QA Superintendent or QA Supervisor
