Job Description:

The Humane Society of Charlotte (HSC) is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician for its high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter clinics. This position is mission-driven at the highest level of care to the companion animals of Charlotte and surrounding communities. Duties include ensuring all paperwork is properly completed by owners and all vaccines are current, explaining any high-risk factors to owners and have them sign appropriate release form, giving animals appropriate pre-surgery medication and placing in appropriate cage, preparing surgery room and animals, monitors all animals recovering from surgery, cleans, sterilizes and prepares surgical packs, maintains a clean and sanitary work area, gives vaccines and microchips per owners instructions, performs special assignments and other duties as assigned when necessary. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, well organized and able to effectively work independently and within a team framework. Candidate must be capable of balancing multiple priorities with limited resources in a fast-paced environment. Must have a great sense of humor and enjoy working with diverse populations and other organizations including government agencies. Must be comfortable interacting with dogs and cats.
