must be certified as a Class 1 law enforcement officer for the state of South Carolina, with a minimum of three years of experince in law enforcement. Previous training and assignment as a SRO is perfereed, but not necessary. High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 21 years of age, and united states citizen.
The School resource Officer(SRO) enforces all local, federal and state laws relating to pulic safety and welfare; performs all duties in compliance with applicable polices, procedures, laws, regulations and standards of safety. The SRO provides sercuity for assigned school, assisting in the maintenance of order and public safety and the well-being of students, faculty, sataff and vistors. the SRO partrols campus frequently; develops and implements a school safeety plan; provides indvidual and group conseling for students; monitors student behavior during lunch, between classes and other times to maintain order; investigates school crimes; indentifies gang activity; participats in school/ extracurricular activites, as appropriate, and has other related responsibilites.
