Wages/Salary: $30,274.00 - $56,015.00 Annually
A high school diploma and six (6) years of progressively responsible field experience in geodetic surveying or related area; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid motor vehicle operator's license.
Performs foundation inspection of driven piles and drilled shafts for bridge construction. Inspects roadway construction including the placement of fill material in embankments. Performs compaction tests utilizing the nuclear density gauge to ensure contract requirements are met. Performs asphalt roadway inspections by checking rates of placement, visually and using a nuclear density gauge to determine acceptability of finished product, checks rates of tack dispensed, monitors roller patterns, and monitors replacement of painted lines. Monitors traffic control on assigned projects to ensure the traffic control plan is being followed according
to approved plans. Prepares reports to include daily work reports, erosion control reports, monthly estimates, final estimates and final plans to ensure contractors are properly paid for all work completed satisfactorily. Ensures all required samples and certifications on assigned projects are obtained and kept up to date. Enters all certifications and sampling in site manager as required. Serves as Agency's representative when meeting with contractors, general public, property owners and utility company representatives in answering questions, resolving disputes and satisfying complaints. Trains technicians in all aspects of construction
work to include field inspection, sampling and testing of construction materials, maintaining daily dairies, using site manager, and preparing final notes. Prepares written reports as necessary.
