Minimum Experience Requirement
One year prior medical, medical office or office experience required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel; minimum typing speed of 40 wpm. Familiarity with medical terminology preferred. Ability to compose correspondence and proof assignments to ensure accuracy of documents. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required. Detail attentiveness required. Individual must be self-motivated and willing to self-direct. Ability to simultaneously handle multiple assignments and projects with speed and accuracy. Able to work efficiently and effectively under time constraints. Ability to work well with physicians, employees and outside office staff.

Physical Requirement/Working Conditions
Ability to sit for extended periods of time working with a keyboard and computer monitor and perform duties in a sometimes loud and busy work station. Ability to grasp, pull, push, lift and carry up to 15 pounds. Ability to express and exchange ideas via spoken word during activities in which they must convey detail or important spoken instructions to others accurately, sometimes quickly and loudly. Hearing to perceive the nature of sound with no less than 40 db loss @ 1000Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without correction; ability to perceive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound. Perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands and fingers. ob Summary
The Surgical Services Secretary is the primary administrative support person for the entire Surgical Services Department. This individual serves as the point of contact for physicians, outside offices, outside sales, vendors and employees. The Surgical Services Secretary is responsible for drafting correspondence from the department, compliling and aggregating department statistics, patient charges, recordkeeping for Reclast infusion and Prolia Injection, scheduling all procedures and all other clerical functions of the Surgical Services Department. In addition, he/she performs departmental stocking and supply duties, unit-cleaning activities and may also perform basic tasks to provide for the care, comfort, and the safety of patients and staff.
