Wages/Salary: $17,310.00 - $32,027.00 Annually
A 10th grade education and two and one-half (2.5) years related trades experience; or an
approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid
Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License within six (6) months of placement in the position.
However, applicants without a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License will be considered if
no qualified applicants with a Class ?A? Commercial Driver?s License are available.
Operates self-propelled sheeps foot roller to compact and solidify soil and cement stabilized
material. Performs various maintenance tasks including ditch work, slope mowing, limb
trimming, patching, etc. Performs manual labor in Greenwood County during the winter months
or when reclamation activities have ceased due to equipment breakdowns, weather, etc.
Operates standard and tandem dump trucks for hauling materials including asphalt, stone and
soil and to pull trailers to haul equipment to and from job sites. Performs preventative
maintenance on equipment as outlined in equipment and SCDOT servicing intervals. Conducts
and documents pre-operation or pre-trip equipment inspections. Operates other rollers,
including smooth steel wheel and pneumatic, as well as other reclamation crew equipment.
Operates standard and tandem dump trucks with snow plow attachment and sand spreader to
remove snow and ice from highways and bridges. Performs other related job duties as
requested or assigned by supervisor. Acts as groundsman to guide the cement spreader to
ensure proper alignment and spread rate during full depth reclamation operations. Acts as
groundsman to guide the reclaimer to ensure proper alignment, water content, and depth of cut
during full depth reclamation operations. Operates water truck during full depth reclamation
throughout District 2.
