Trains to operate loader, backhoe, and other specialized machinery in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of roadside shoulders, roadside and outfall ditches, driveways, pipeline, grading for positive drainage, and loading trucks with filled material. Trains to operates 5 yard dump trucks hauling equipment and materials to and from job sites. Performs duties using manual labor, in such maintenance tasks as clearing of right-of-ways, cleaning drainage ditches, repairing shoulders, patching potholes, making base repairs, repairing to bridges, paving driveways, and laying sideline/ cross line pipe. Performs flagging, work zone setup and take down, and follow vehicle driving duties. Performs related duties as required for stand-by crew rotation, emergencies, snow-ice, and equipment operation such as plow, loader, or spreader, requiring right-of-way debris removal. Performs other related duties. Operates small power tools and removes trees from right-of-way.
