Requirements:

A 10th grade education and three and one-half (3.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Serves as crew leader while performing bridge repair in areas such as pilings, bearings,expansion joints, deck, and guardrail. Also, included are cutting and welding. Serves as crew leader in the maintenance/repair of concrete and timber bridges, installation of bridge cribbing,and removal of debris and timber from channel. Assumes supervisor's duties and responsibilities during their absence. Operates truck mounted plows and sand spreaders in snow and ice removal as necessary. Performs other related duties, including on call for after hour emergencies. Operates tandem ten-wheel dump truck, 5 yard standard dump truck, and
flatbed truck for hauling materials including asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe, construction materials and debris. Operates chain saw in the removal of trees from right-ofways. Trains in the operation of the boom truck while performing bridge repairs and tree removal. Instructs crew members daily in safety practices. Safety practices includes flagging operations, wearing of safety equipment, vehicle safety, or when working with hazardous materials and waste. Removes litter, debris and dead animals from roadway and rights-ofway. This position requires employee to lift heavy objects.

Monday - Friday (8:30 - 5:00)/ Full-Time
