Requirements:

A 10th grade education and three and one-half (3.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement of position. However, qualified applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class A Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Operates large motorgraders in ditching, shoulder operations, grading and machining roads, driveways installation or snow and ice removal. Operates combination front-end loader and backhoe to clean out drainage ditches and to install sideline and cross line pipes. Operates motorgraders, backhoes, tractor with ditching machine and other heavy equipment as required. Acts as crew leader in absence of foreman or when working a small crew separate of regular crew. Operates dump trucks in hauling material and equipment to job sites. Operates dump truck with sand spreader and snow plow attached. Performs manual labor associated with ditching, paving, traffic control and other various roadway repair activities. Sets up work zone traffic control and/or performs flagging operations at job site to direct traffic safely through work zone, around workers and equipment. Accurately enters data into HMMS Daily Work Report in absence of crew foreman. Performs other related job duties as required by supervisor.
