Requirements:

A 10th grade education and three and one-half (3.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL). (NOTE): This position requires a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.

Job Description:

Serves as crew leader when crew is dispersed; may direct mowing operations and herbicide spraying. Operates boom mowers, slope mowers and bat wing mowers in roadside and rightof-way clearing operations as necessary. Assumes supervisor's duties and responsibilities during their absence. Accurately enters data into HMMS daily work report in absence of crew supervisor. Sets up traffic control according to SCMUTCD standards to warn motorist of road work ahead. Operates tandem dump truck in hauling maintenance and construction materials including concrete pipes, asphalt, dirt, and coquina. Operates truck mounted plows and sand spreaders in snow and ice removal as necessary. Operates front-end loader in the loading of materials needed for maintenance operations including earth materials, clay, sand and aggregate. Performs various other duties as requested by supervisor.
