Requirements:

A high school diploma and four and one-half (4.5) years of related trades experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License. (NOTE): This position requires a valid Class "A" Commercial Driver's License within six (6) months of placement in the position. However, applicants without a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License will be considered if no qualified applicants with Class "A" Commercial Driver's License are available.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in using HMMS, Microsoft Office, and other related computer programs.

Job Description:

Supervises a crew of subordinates performing complex ditching operations using motorgraders, backhoes, and various specialized equipment. Daily dealings with the public and property owners. Maintains proper traffic control during these operations. During time when unable to ditch, supplements with patching, cutting trees, and cleaning around bridges as directed by supervisor. Executes ditching plan in accordance with policy and goals. Maintains all applicable reports including entering data into HMMS, and reports to Resident Maintenance Foreman for
Resident Maintenance Engineer as required. On rotation, stand-by one week out of seven. Supervises crew on snow and ice removal or during emergencies. Supervises a crew removing trees and debris from roadways during inclement weather. Instructs in the operation of motorgrader and other motorized equipment used in making roadway and roadside repairs. Performs related duties as required. Evaluates employees yearly by way of EPMS. Initiates employee disciplinary action as necessary.
