The MIG certificate prepares students for a specialty area in Welding. Students who complete the certificate are eligible to continue into the Welding diploma program.

Purpose Statement

The MIG Welding certificate prepares graduates to demonstrate the basic welding skills for GMAW and for entry-level MIG welding employment.

  • Read and interpret welding blueprints.  
  • Perform Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) to acceptable industry standards.
  • Demonstrate the necessary skills needed to apply Gas Metal Arc Welding on various joint designs.
  • Understand and demonstrate occupational welding safety practices.
