The TIG certificate prepares students for a specialty area in Welding. Students who complete the certificate are eligible to continue into the Welding diploma program.

Program Student Learning Outcomes

Purpose Statement

The TIG Welding certificate prepares graduates to demonstrate the basic welding skills for GTAW and for possible TIG welding entry-level employment. 

Student Learning Outcomes

  • Read and interpret welding blueprints.
  • Perform Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) to acceptable industry standards.  
  • Demonstrate the necessary skills needed to apply Gas Tungsten Arc Welding on various joint designs.
  • Understand and demonstrate occupational welding safety practices.
