We are looking for Engineering Majors for our Summer Internship Program for 2018. These program offers a dynamic and accelerated work experience that prepares you to compete for entry-level, professional positions upon graduation, and provides you with skill-building work. The program’s goal is to attract, develop, and retain high-potential college students. Upon graduation and after successfully completing the program, you may be eligible for consideration into a SCE&G core business. This internship will be in SCE&G North Charleston Gas Operations office.

 

Responsibilities:

Engineer Interns will learn about natural gas utility engineering by spending time working with all areas of the Engineering Department including:  Project Engineering, System Planning, Codes and Standards, Measurement Services, GIS Services, Training and Pipeline Integrity.  This position will assist Engineers, Engineering & GIS Specialists and Management with various job duties to meet current and future company initiatives and regulatory requirements.  Job duties may include but are not limited to: creating Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) and/or AutoCAD, and/or GIS drawings of proposed pipelines and stations, researching information for system upgrades, permitting new gas mains, writing procedures, creating and populating spreadsheets and databases, performing cost estimates for construction projects, and utilizing GIS to map gas facilities.  Additional job functions may include but are not limited to:  support of gas measurement functions, pipeline integrity management program support, research and development of training programs, and field preview and/or verification of construction installations.
