A 10th grade education and three and one-half (3.5) years of work experience that is directly
related to the area of employment; or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with
State Human Resources Regulations.
A valid Class A Commercial Driver?s License (CDL). Note: This position requires a valid Class A
Commercial Driver?s License. However, applicants without a Class A Commercial Driver?s License
will be considered if no qualified applicants with a Class A Commercial Driver?s License are
available. Class A Commercial Driver?s License must be attained within six (6) months
of placement in the position.
May be required to work overtime, nighttime, and/or weekends during hazardous
weather or emergencies.

Job Description:

Performs skilled mechanical duties on SCDOT vehicles and heavy equipment at the Lexington Maintenance repair shop. Performs engine overhauls, transmission repairs and/or overhauls,
and clutch replacements to both gas and diesel vehicles and equipment. Performs repairs and
maintenance to motors, brakes, cooling and electrical systems on vehicles and
equipment. Performs automotive repairs to include wiring repairs, brake replacements, tune
ups, and hydraulic and air system repairs. Performs electrical and acetylene welding to repair or
modify parts on dump trucks and heavy equipment. Performs other related duties as required
by supervisor.

Schedule:
Monday - Friday (8:30 - 5:00)
