Lander University, Piedmont Technical College sign transfer agreement

Transferring to Lander University from Piedmont Technical College (PTC) is now easier.

The two institutions signed an agreement April 21 forming the Lander University Bearcat Bound Bridge Program, which will provide advising and academic support to prospective transfer students who meet minimum requirements as they transition from PTC to Lander.

Students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and at least 30 hours of college-level coursework to transfer through the program.

“Partnerships like this underscore our shared commitment to student success and highlight the importance of collaboration,” said Dr. Keli Fewox, PTC’s vice president for academic affairs. “By streamlining transfer pathways with Lander, we are enhancing opportunities for students in our region to continue advancing academically and professionally.”

“I believe this agreement creates significant improvements to the existing transfer pathways for PTC students wishing to complete baccalaureate programs of study,” said Dr. Jim Colbert, Lander’s provost and vice president for academic affairs. “With the strong foundation of knowledge and skills from coursework provided by PTC, students transferring to Lander and graduating will be well prepared for continued graduate education or employment in the workforce of South Carolina.”
