PTC Creatives Bring Home Gold, Silver, and Bronze

The marketing team at Piedmont Technical College (PTC) recently won Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals in the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) 2022 Medallion Awards competition, which recognizes outstanding achievement in design and communication at community and technical colleges in each of NCMPR's seven districts. PTC competes in District 2, a region comprised of colleges in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, and The Bahamas. 

PTC's Intersession Camp Will Ignite the Budding Engineer in Participants

Greenwood-area parents who have been “racking their brains” trying to figure out how to provide fun, engaging, and educational activities for their children over the upcoming Intersession (March 27-31, 2023) have an option certain to enhance children’s knowledge about engineering. The Building Brains Camp, offered through Piedmont Technical College (PTC), runs Monday to Wednesday, March 27-29, 2023 at PTC’s Greenwood campus.

Latimore Urges PTC Fall Graduates to Match Passion with Purpose

A jarring experience with law enforcement when she was a young child resonated permanently with Piedmont Technical College (PTC) alumna and newly minted U.S. Marshal for the District of South Carolina Chrissie Latimore. The trauma of that night ultimately led her to be a change agent in police culture. Latimore shared her story with PTC fall graduates at last month’s commencement ceremonies.

While South Carolina residents are taking advantage of Piedmont Technical College’s No-Cost Option scholarship assistance (which has been extended through the Summer 2023 term), non-qualifying out-of-state students still may face the occasional hardship paying for some of their college costs out of pocket. Machine Tool Technology (MTT) majors have an indispensable resource in the form of back-to-back Gene Haas Foundation education grants, which provide assistance with tuition, books, tools, and other supply costs for PTC students working toward careers in advanced manufacturing.

MODELS Academy Receives Critical Support from Grants

While they may not express it outright or even be cognizant of it, young black boys are constantly looking for acceptance, guidance, and discipline. Those without consistent, positive role models in their lives can be at risk of stigma and marginalization later in life. They may miss opportunities for success or, worse, become grim statistics.
