The idea of manufacturing as a dirty and dangerous workplace is far from the truth today. As automation has expanded in manufacturing, many industries now resemble high tech laboratories. The ManuFirst Pre-Employment Workshop is a short term training program that will prepare participants to pursue jobs in manufacturing by teaching basic production, quality, and job readiness soft skills. As a manufacturing worker, your job duties could typically include producing products on a daily basis, assembling parts and working to help a plant meet production and financial goals. Employers are ready to fill these positions. Average starting salary is $12/hour, and in some cases higher, with benefits after a probationary employment period. This course is being offered in cooperation with Edgefield County Adult Education and will be offered in person on the PTC Edgefield campus with participants completing some components using the PTC D2L Learning Platform. Classes will meet from 8:30AM - 3:30PM Monday through Friday with a 1 hour lunch break. Click on the "Request Additional Course Info" tab to complete registration. Immediate scholarship funding available for SC residents 18 years of age and older. There is currently no cost to you for this course!
