Piedmont Technical College will be holding fall commencement exercises on Tuesday, December 15. Commencement exercises will begin at 5 p.m. in the James Medford Family Event Center at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood. Due to limited seating, tickets will be required for all guests attending the graduation ceremony. Each ticketholder, including children, will be entitled to one seat.
Piedmont Technical College, Edgefield Adult Education and Strom Thurmond Career Center (STCC) have received nearly $150,000 as part of a Federal Incentive Grant awarded to the SC Department of Employment and Workforce, SC Department of Education and the SC Technical College System. The initiative, called Learn 2 Earn, is a comprehensive, coordinated effort to meet basic skills needs of adults and create a pipeline of skilled youth and adult workers for the health care and advanced manufacturing and includes a soft skills component.

Saluda resident Ashley Owens, an associate in science-honors and diversified agriculture student at Piedmont Technical College, has been awarded $5000 from The Pearson Scholarship for Higher Education. Through the partnership with the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, Pearson awards a total of 10 scholarships to exceptional community college students who are Phi Theta Kappa members and intend to continue their education at a four-year institution.
